About this programme

Spain offers volunteering through regional youth authorities and host organisations. This page groups those routes for comparison: Servicio Voluntario is not one nationwide civic-service scheme with a single allowance or eligibility rule. Activities, age ranges and application dates depend on the region and project.

One established route is Campos de Voluntariado, youth volunteering camps coordinated through INJUVE (Instituto de la Juventud), the Spanish Youth Institute, and regional authorities. International exchanges commonly involve around two weeks of community activity and cultural exchange. Regional offers also include placements in Spain. A participation fee may cover accommodation, meals and programme activities, while travel and extra costs can remain yours. Check each offer’s terms before comparing it with longer civic-service programmes.

Eligibility criteria

  • AgeSet by the regional call and project. International youth camps commonly target 18–30, while some regional offers include younger participants.
  • ResidenceRegional application routes may require residence in that region. Check the specific call.
  • Language & activityHost-language expectations and any activity requirements are stated in the project information.
  • Application routeApply through the authority or organisation named in the offer; there is no single national application.

Important to know

No standard monthly allowance, full social-insurance package or university-credit award applies to all these opportunities. Fees, travel costs, insurance and any credit recognition must be checked against the selected project.
