About this programme

Service Citoyen combines a six-month placement in Belgium with group training and individual support. Missions cover culture, sport-based education, the environment and helping people. You contribute to a host organisation while exploring your interests and next direction.

A supervisor at the host and the programme team support you throughout. Groups start during the year, with entry through an information session. The organiser lists a €12.50 daily volunteer allowance and transport reimbursement up to €100 a month. Participation is a substantial weekly commitment, and the allowance is not a salary.

  • ResidenceInternational participants must have lawful residence in Belgium.
  • QualificationNo diploma required.
  • AvailabilityConfirm compatibility with work or study with the organiser.

Important to know

Ask the organiser to confirm insurance, benefit rules and compatibility with your existing status before joining. Do not assume the allowance creates employee status. The principal placement is in Belgium; occasional short activities abroad do not make this a general international-placement scheme.
