About SEPE / Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil

Garantía Juvenil is Spain’s Youth Guarantee gateway for young people seeking a route into work or training. Registration connects eligible users with opportunities such as courses, apprenticeships and employment initiatives offered by public services and participating organisations. SEPE provides the national information and application platform.

Applicants must meet the registration conditions, including municipal registration in Spain and the applicable nationality or residence rules. The system also checks that you were not working, studying or training on the day before applying. Once registered, each opportunity has its own provider, timetable and conditions; registration alone does not secure a job or payment.

Eligibility criteria

  • AgeSEPE describes the target group as 16–29; its registration FAQ specifies over 16 and under 30. Confirm the exact age rule if you are 16.
  • ResidenceBe registered with a municipality in Spain (empadronamiento).
  • Nationality or permitSpanish, EU/EEA or Swiss citizens exercising residence rights, or foreign residents with an authorisation allowing work; a specific route exists for eligible unaccompanied minors.
  • Current activityYou must not have worked, studied or trained on the day before applying, and commit to active participation.
