Where missions take place

OFQJ regularly organises missions in Québec and francophone communities elsewhere in Canada. Official programme pages also identify Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa, with partnerships that have produced missions in countries such as Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago and Tunisia. These are documented examples, not a permanent country-availability list: the live mission offer is the source of truth.

Mission themes and examples

OFQJ groups missions under seven themes: solidarity; culture; citizenship; culture and education in the Francophone world; international mobility; environment; and sport. Activities can include social inclusion, community and cultural events, rights awareness, French-language education, youth mobility, circular economy, urban agriculture and inclusive sport. The host guide and live offer define the actual mission.

Indemnity and practical support

The current national Service Civique scale is €504.98 net per month paid by the State plus a €114.85 host subsistence benefit in cash or in kind, for a total reference value of €619.83. A €114.95 social supplement may apply. OFQJ pages still show a separate destination-support table explicitly labelled “En 2024”; do not treat those older figures as a current promise. Confirm airfare, insurance and any additional destination support in the live mission offer.

Eligibility criteria

  • Age18–25 at departure; up to 30 only for a person with a disability.
  • Nationality and residenceNormally a French national with a valid passport. Some non-French residents of France may qualify under destination-specific immigration rules that the current Finder cannot verify.
  • Education and experienceNo diploma or previous experience required.
  • LanguageMissions are hosted by francophone organisations; another local language is not a general prerequisite.
  • Previous civic serviceYou must not have completed a previous Service Civique mission.
  • ApplicationIndividual application, normally limited to three applications per recruitment session.
