About German–Polish Youth Encounters — DPJW
DPJW/PNWM funds joint projects built by partner schools, associations or youth organisations in Germany and Poland. The exchange must prioritise genuine interaction and a shared programme rather than a mainly tourist visit.
Individuals do not apply to DPJW/PNWM for a place or grant. They join through an organising partner, while the two organisations submit the project and recruit reasonably balanced country groups.
Eligibility criteria
- AgeStandard participants are 12–26; younger exceptions require justification and approval.
- ProjectA German and a Polish partner jointly create the programme and normally submit one coordinated application.
- Group balanceThe two country groups should be reasonably balanced, with a standard maximum ratio of 2:3.
- DurationThe shared programme normally lasts 4–28 days.
- LanguageNo general proficiency threshold is published; a project may use funded language mediation.
- FundingCurrent 2026 rates are partial contributions to programme and travel costs, not guaranteed full-cost coverage.

A live partner project must confirm recruitment, dates, costs and language arrangements. This is not a direct individual application, paid-work route or generic tourist trip.
